I'm very interested in the techologies involved in the Web 2.0 movement and am currently involved in a project looking at how different technologies could be used to enhance our services here at the State Library of Tas. There are an excellent array of technologies available for libraries to adapt for their own use, however I do sometimes wonder whether or not many libraries are using the technologies for the sake of using them, rather than for a 'business need'.
I was recently given this article by Michael Stephens to read and if anyone has the time, its well worth it.

I have to agree with you. Many libraries incorporate Web 2.0 technologies just for the sake of it when they are really duplicating what they already have.
